Control

Portfolio can be controlled from the application interface through the 'Stocks', 'Settings' and 'Refresh' links as well as from the Tray Icon. Help will focus on the Tray Icon since it has more features.

Where is the Tray Icon?

If portfolio is running, a little red arrow appears in the lower right corner of your screen. Right click on it to bring up a menu. Click on the following links for specific feature information.

Stocks
Click 'Add' or 'Delete' to manage the list
Use column headings to sort the list.

One of the unique features of Portfolio is its ability to monitor 'News' and 'Message' Boards for new information. Click the 'NEWS' and/or 'MESSAGE BOARD' check boxes and Portfolio will alert you with a blinking tray icon as well as a glow around the corresponding element in the main interface whenever new information is found.

For example if new NEWS found the NEWS link is highlighted and the Tray icon will flash Green and Red.

Settings - Application
Launch with Windows -- Portfolio starts when you turn on your computer.

Start Minimized To System Tray -- Portfolio appears only in the Tray when it first starts.

Window Hide After 60 seconds -- If unused for 60 seconds will auto close. Keeps your finances personal.

Window Always on Top -- Ensures that you can always see Portfolio no mater what applications you start or stop. (Makes it really easy to zip thru the news and information links).

Settings - Refresh
Choose how often you want Portfolio to look for information.

Settings - Provider
This is where you choose who will supply information to portfolio. You may configure Quote, Message and News providers.
You must have checked the MESSAGE BOARD and/or NEWS boxes in the Stocks dialog for messages and news to be checked for updates.
This page also provides a direct link to the providers page of this website. It lets you update old and install new providers by downloading the latest list.

Settings - Show
Choose how you want information displayed. The fewer objects displayed the less desktop real estate used.

Registration
This is the most important interface (well to us anyway).

Click on either link or the 'Home' link above to go to our homepage and then click 'Buy'

It will walk you through a series of pages that collect your credit card information and finally send you a registration code.

Paste this code into the text field and click the 'Register' button. You may now use Portfolio forever.
